| | One man's ode to a long-gone Alfa Romeo | | One recent weekend, I drove my friend's car to Nanxiang, a county near Shanghai. In that hour-long drive to Nanxiang, I was amazed at how easy and comfortable it was to control a modern car. That was a particularly striking experience as I haven't driven a car for almost 10 years. Cocooned in the sheer luxury of heated leather-upholstered seats, thick-piled carpets and shiny wood trim, and with the multi-speaker high-fi system playing Mozart's piano concertos with gusto, both driver and passengers were well isolated from road bumps and wind noise. Engine noise never rose above a murmur, even under hard acceleration, and the automatic system shifted gears with such finesse that each change was smoothly accomplished. I couldn't help but asked myself: What more could you want from a car? The answer is passion. I just didn't feel that I was driving because so much of the dynamics of the car was controlled by the built-in silicon chips. | |

I think that Alfa Romeo is the great manufacturer of car in Italy (after Ferrari...). I have an Alfa Romeo 147 and I can't find the mode to explain how it's beautiful drive this car, the perfect feeling and the beautiful line of the car.

| I have a new car!!! | | Just to share you good news. I have a new car: it is an Italian car called Alfa 147. I am trying to add a picture taken by the Alfaromeo web site.
It is just a little thing, but I wanted to share this with you. People here at work are threatening me with bad thoughts..like they will rob it, or damage it and so on.But I don't care. Cars are meant to be used and I need a good car seeing I have at least 100 km to drive each day.
I am thinking about the best name for my car. The previous one was called Iris, under my favourite flowers and Van Gogh's painting. Now I am thinking about Trix (one of my nickname) and Shiny (because the car is silver!!).
